![]() ![]() Once you are in said location, you are playing intrinsically on a loaded area in a similar vein to chrono trigger. This completely changes how the player engages in the adventure. ![]() The game decides where you go, to the point you select the location the game allows you to go to from an abstract map. You control the character, where you go and what you see, you find towns, and dungeons and secrets intrinsically on the world map. Neither do I feel it's a negative, if there is one thing chrono trigger excels in that a lot of studios should take notes on, it's that ct has mastered the art of 'keep it simple stupid.'Ĭhrono trigger has an intrinsic world map. I don't think simplistic is a good descriptor. It's not because its simplistic, In fact, considering rh really has 2 functional world maps, one a simplistic environment map and one a rather complicated temporal cause/effect map. So here I am looking at Lost Sphear as it's on sale on the Switch e shop right now, and I'm wondering if it's going to flip that switch for me in the way that I was hoping I am Setsuna would, so what say you Era? Is it just more of the same from I am Setsuna, or is it closer on the quality spectrum to the Cosmic Star Heroine, which I consider a vastly higher quality ode to Chrono Trigger. ![]() The story seemed to just be something of a condensed and reiterated FFX, the music was uninspired and boring to me, the art was tolerable, and the combat, while certainly reminiscent of Chrono Trigger, just seemed like such a complete rehash of Chrono Trigger's combat system that it lacked any semblance of identity to me. Chrono Trigger is one of my favorite games of all time and is certainly fighting The Witcher 2 for the spot of my favorite RPG of all time, and I picked up I am Setsuna because I read it was essentially an ode to Chrono Trigger, but for reasons that I find difficult to succinctly put word to I didn't much care for I am Setsuna. ![]()
